Maylene Mole

Principal Solicitor

With more than 30 years of experience as a lawyer, Maylene Mole is a sought after estate planning expert and public speaker, with experience in wills and estate planning. Her career has seen her handle matters in the Supreme Court of Queensland whilst also admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia.

From acting for royalty, business owners, and families with special needs, it is finding solutions with strategy that is the focus.
Maylene’s gift is her ability to make people feel comfortable in her presence – smart and savvy, but kind and compassionate.

Maylene takes special interest in the older people in our community, seeking to ensure they have their affairs ordered so the later years of their life can be spent happily with their loved ones, knowing they’re looked after.

Maylene also has extensive experience in business succession planning. She advises on structures to protect assets and ensure the smooth continuation of business during difficult times, and can be relied upon for dependable legal advice on business succession matters.

In her own time, Maylene’s love of all things family (including the four-legged furry kind) keeps her smiling.

Jessica Bunn

Solicitor

Jessica is a lawyer in the Nexgen.Law Wills and Estates team. Since studying succession law at university, she has been passionate about wills and estates.

Jessica predominantly focuses on estate planning for medium to high-net-worth clients. She is driven to provide holistic and tailored estate plans and understands the significance of the technical interplay between trust and taxation law in estate planning. She explains complex legal concepts in plain English and builds relationships with clients, treating them with warmth and compassion. She also has experience in the administration of deceased estates and estate litigation.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys travelling, going for walks with her dogs, yoga, pilates and cooking.

Agnes Derrick

Solicitor

Agnes Derrick has been admitted since March 2017 and for the first six or so years of her legal career, she practised exclusively in the areas of Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Insolvency. Agnes brings her valuable skill set in Estate Disputes and Litigation to our team.
Prior to working in the legal industry, Agnes’ background in events and marketing developed her strong grasp on identifying a client’s needs and overarching goals to develop the best strategy for that particular client.

Clients from all walks of life can find themselves in situations which call on Agnes’ high level problem-solving and analytical skills. On a day-to-day basis, Agnes deals with a range of estate planning, estate administration, estate disputes and litigious matters the subject of Court or Tribunal proceedings. Agnes is passionate about giving her clients the legal support they need during what can at times be overwhelming and stressful for her clients.

Agnes understands the personal and commercial impact her work has on her clients. Keeping this front of mind, she strives to work closely with each client to achieve the best possible outcome in every situation.

Suchitra (Sue) Mahendrakar

Solicitor

With a decade worth of experience under her belt, Sue has been a trusted professional in the field of taxation within the private clients space.

Drawing upon her background in crafting tax strategies, Sue has transitioned her passion into the realm of estate law and succession planning, dedicated to helping individuals and families to secure their legacies. Her unique experience in the tax treatment of digital assets and business commercial acumen, ensures her approach isn’t just about numbers and legalities, but rather a commitment to understanding each client’s specific goals, concerns, and family dynamics.

This allows her to personalise estate planning strategies that safeguard and optimise the transfer of assets, minimise tax liabilities and ensure the transition of wealth from one generation to the next. Whether it’s passing down your family business, or ensuring your loved ones are cared for, Sue believes in guiding clients through the intricacies of estate law with empathy and clarity.

Life beyond Law: When she is not immersed in legalities and frameworks, Sue revels in the warmth of getting away on family holidays. Yoga is her sanctuary for inner peace and dancing her escape into a world of rhythm and movement. Other than that, she speaks 2 other languages (Hindi and Bengali) and is always ready to share a laugh or two about life in general.

Penne Clinch

Marketing & Business Development Manager

Penne brings a dynamic blend of marketing prowess and business acumen to Nextgen.Law, honed through years of experience in the realm of both commercial and residential real estate. With a keen eye for detail, she is driven by an unwavering motivation to excel in serving clients and cultivating meaningful relationships.

Penne is guided by a deep-seated commitment to brand management to ensure that every facet resonates with the authenticity and purpose of Nextgen.Law. She understands the importance of nurturing our brand to ensure our clients and referers feel warm and welcomed when engaging with our team. Penne is dedicated to enhancing our clients’ and referrers’ experience with us, and believes in the power of strong connections.

Outside of nurturing our Nextgen.Law marketing and client/referer relationships, Penne enjoys spending her free time with her 2 dogs, Poppy & Peppa, whether that be camping or at the beach.

Ella Clinch

Administration Assistant​

Ella is currently studying Spatial Science Technologies and is a full-time Trainee Mine Surveyor in Emerald. When she is on her off-weeks from surveying, Ella assists Nextgen.Law by supporting the team with any ad-hoc administration requirements. She has an impeccable eye for detail and delivers her work with pride and passion, no matter the task.

Ella has been with Nextgen.Law since she was in high school and knows the intricacies of our business, and understands the importance of being meticulous and sensitive to all situations.

In her time outside of work, Ella’s cornerstone of her world consists of her partner, and their loyal canine companion, Bailey Girl. Together, the three of them regularly embark on new adventures and create new memories together.
